From city to desert, discover the essence of Namibia on a fantastic round-trip tour - includes breakfast, flights, hotels, excursions and more

Day 1: UK – Night on board

Arrive at the airport ready for your overnight flight to Windhoek, the bustling capital of Namibia.

Please note, you can book seven dinners as part of the optional Panorama Tour programme, with meals taking place at your hotel/lodge. Dinners on days five, six, and seven will be at a local restaurant. Two optional packed lunches are also available to book for long distance trips on days three and five.

Day 2: Windhoek

Upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport, your driver will greet you before you’re whisked away to your hotel for check-in. Situated in the country's central highlands, catch a first glimpse of Namibia's expansive landscapes. Depending on when you arrive, you'll have the remainder of the day to explore the city's unique blend of African and European influences at your own pace.

Day 3: Windhoek - Kalahari Desert

Following a hearty breakfast, your guide will provide a brief overview of the thrilling desert excursion ahead. Once ready, you'll be driven towards the striking orange dunes of the Kalahari Desert, arriving in Mariental. Along the way, keep watch for leaping gazelles and grazing oryx before soaking up the captivating beauty of this awe-inspiring landscape. As the afternoon unfolds, an unforgettable panoramic tour of the Kalahari Desert awaits, promising a sunset that bathes the landscape in golden light.

Day 4: Kalahari Desert - Sossusvlei

After another tasty breakfast, today’s adventure will take you toward the great Namib Desert. You'll travel past the city of Mariental and the village of Maltahöhe, eventually arriving at the colossal dunes of Sossusvlei. These towering red sand dunes, sculpted by the wind over millennia and among the world's highest, are a truly breathtaking sight. Depending on when you arrive at your next hotel, you'll be able to enjoy some free time, perhaps witnessing another enchanting sunset.

Day 5: Dune 45, Deadvlei & Sesriem Canyon

Today begins with an extraordinary safari adventure, offering a deep immersion into Namibia's natural magnificence. Start in Namib-Naukluft National Park at sunrise, where you’ll witness the first light painting the mountains in stunning apricot, red, and orange – a perfect moment to capture on film. Afterwards, you'll journey to Deadvlei, home to some of Earth's highest dunes, and Sossusvlei, where the drying Tsauchab River meets the sands. Traverse these majestic dunes for panoramic views of the desert landscape below. Finally, you'll visit Sesriem Canyon, a remarkable natural wonder in the heart of the Namib Desert.

Please note, this activity occurs before sunrise in order to avoid extreme hot weather conditions. Pick-up times vary according to the sunrise so please consult your guide at the lodge the day before. This activity is not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone with reduced mobility.

Day 6: Soussusvlei - Walvis Bay - Swakopmund

Fuel up over breakfast before readying to pass through Solitaire, on the edge of Namib-Naukluft National Park. En route to the Atlantic Ocean, pause to sip a calming cup of coffee and enjoy a snack before continuing towards the Kuiseb Valley's stark, rolling hills. You'll stop at Walvis Bay, a crucial RAMSAR World Heritage Site and one of Africa's most important lagoons, where you can observe flocks of pink African flamingos. The scenic drive between the dunes and the ocean leads you to Swakopmund, where the rest of your day is yours to do with as you please.

Optionally, a wonderful dolphin cruise awaits in Walvis Bay. Witness playful seals and leaping dolphins, and perhaps enjoy fresh oysters and champagne on board. This lively tour of Pelican Point and Walvis Bay also provides opportunities to see whales, turtles, and Mola Mola (ocean sunfish).

Day 7: Swakopmund

After breakfast, set out to discover the charming coastal city of Swakopmund, often called ‘the playground of Namibia’ for its diverse attractions. As you discover this beautiful region, swing by a bakery for a coffee, tea or fresh, flaky pastry before admiring the historic architecture, museums, shopping areas, and buzzy beachside bars.

You might also choose to join an optional half-day 4x4 excursion to Sandwich Harbour, where you can witness the immensity of some of the world's tallest dunes. Whiz through golden sands and along the sea, catching glimpses of these impressive natural formations as you go. Keep an eye out for the rich birdlife and potentially spot some of the world's most endangered species.

Day 8: Swakopmund - Windhoek

Today, you’ll start your return journey through the savannah back to Windhoek, the heart of the country. If time allows, there might be an opportunity to visit the renowned wood carver’s market in Okahandja or the craft market along one of Windhoek's main streets for some last-minute souvenir shopping. After checking into your hotel in Windhoek, you'll embark on a brief city tour, where you can see the iconic Christ Church and Tintenpalast, the House of Parliament. Spend your last evening relishing in Namibia's many treasures, perhaps trying local delicacies like Biltong and Potjiekos at your own leisure.

Day 9: Windhoek - Night on board

Depending on the departure time of your return overnight flight, enjoy one last breakfast before heading to the airport and bidding farewell to the magic of Namibia.
