Day 1: UK - Naples

Day 1 & 2: Naples

The first stop on your Italian getaway is none other than Naples: Italy’s third largest city. Located in the shadow of the famed Mount Vesuvius, this metropolis is famous for its rich history, cultural diversity and world-famous cuisine. The old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its narrow, cobbled streets, impressive churches and lively squares, is an unforgettable place to explore. On this tour, you’ll learn about the tunnels’ history, which dates back to the 19th century, visit an air bomb shelter from World War Two, and peruse old artifacts, such as abandoned cars.

Day 3 & 4: Pompeii

Next on your Amalfi adventure is none other than Pompeii. A city frozen in time by the devastating volcanic ash of Mount Vesuvius’ eruption in 79 AD, this archaeological site offers a glimpse into Roman life that is unlike any other. At time of the eruption, Pompeii was a wealthy, middle-class city with an estimated population of over 10,000 people. 1,150 bodies were found preserved at the site, with the rest believed to have escaped the volcano’s deadly destruction - thought to have lasted two days. A visit here will see you coming face-to-face with centuries past as Roman life comes alive like a tangible history book - imagine perfectly preserved streets, frescoes, temples, and homes.

Day 5-7: Sorrento

Home to a lively local scene, endless restaurants, impressive art museums and many a pretty piazza, it's a haven for foodies, culture vultures and dolce-vita lovers alike.

While this stunning coastal oasis is your last stop on your Italian tour, it’s also the ideal launchpad for exploring the rest of the Amalfi Coast. The stunning island of Capri with its famed Blue Grotto will be a mere 20-minute ferry away, while the iconic cliffs of Positano will be within half an hour’s reach. If relaxing horizontally is on the agenda for the last leg of your trip, then Sorrento is still the place for you. However, there are a handful of gems to explore in the city if your toes do begin to twitch. Highlights include Castello Aragonese, Convent di San Francesco, and the gorgeous natural swimming hole of Bagni Regini Giovanna.

You'll also end your getaway on a sun-kissed high as you head off on a cruise along Sorrento’s coast in a typical gozzo.
