Day 1-2: UK – Dubrovnik, Croatia

Upon arriving in Dubrovnik, hop in your rental car or private transfer on to your hotel. Marvel at the enchanting beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where old stone walls meet jewel-like seas. You might even recognise parts of the city from Game of Thrones! Sample delicious Dalmatian cuisine and fresh seafood at authentic tavernas, and on the following day, join a guided sightseeing tour to learn more about the city’s rich history and culture. Follow your guide through maze-like alleyways and take in Dubrovnik’s most famous sights, with leisure time left over to hit the beach and explore the rest of the city at your own pace. Day 3-4: Dubrovnik – Split

After breakfast, hit the road for a scenic drive along the coast to stunning Split, a terracotta-roofed old town beside a topaz sea. As the country's third-largest city and one of its most sought-after coastal destinations, it's home to a fascinating old town that features the remains of the fourth-century Diocletian's Palace. You’ll get to see this and more on your guided sightseeing tour today, as well as Saint Domnius Cathedral and Jupiter’s Temple by the ancient Peristil Square, which becomes the scene of live music many a summer evening. The following day, spend your leisure time lounging on forested beaches or sampling some of Split’s heavenly gelato. Two nights in Split.

Day 5: Split – Zadar – Plitvice Lakes

Finish up breakfast before a 9am start, as you make your way to Zadar for a midmorning sightseeing tour of this charming old peninsula town. Your guide will lead you through a network of ancient streets and a Roman forum dating back to the first century AD. Before moving on to the Plitvice area, you’ll have some free time to check out contrasting modern marvels in Zadar, like the haunting sound and light spectacle of the Sea Organ and Sun Salutation, designed by local architect Nikola Bašić.

Settle into your Plitvice Lakes hotel for the evening, and get a good night’s rest before discovering some out-of-this-world natural beauty.

Day 6: Plitvice Lakes – Zagreb

Rise and shine to behold one of the most beautiful and best-preserved national parks in Croatia. Between 8am and 1pm, you’ll be able explore this UNESCO World Heritage site at your own pace: walk along wooden bridges winding across the enchanting blue-green waters, and watch streams, cascades and rushing waterfalls flow through mossy forests – a glimpse into paradise you’ll treasure long after you leave.

Tear yourself away from these stunning scenes, and hit the road once more towards Zagreb. Check into your hotel in time to join the sightseeing tour around 5pm. The medieval Upper Town boasts beautiful landmarks, including a gothic cathedral and the huge St Mark’s Church, famed for its colour-tiled roof, and you’ll get to stop at the open-air market where you can buy locally produced honey and other handicrafts to take home with you.

Day 7: Zagreb – UK

Enjoy your final breakfast at the hotel, possibly with some more leisure time in town, before heading to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
