The largest of the Greek islands, Crete has long been popular with sun worshippers and nature lovers thanks to its heavenly mix of magnificent beaches, show-stopping peaks and all-round rich tapestry of enchanting landscapes. You’ll be staying in tiny Koutouloufari in the northeast of the island, a village that really lives up to the stereotype of an age-old Greek village: think cobbled alleyways, bougainvillea-clad houses and tavernas serving up fresh seafood.
