Day 1-2: Prague

The Czech Republic’s enchanting capital, Prague, has been coined “The Golden City” due to the way its spires, towers, and red-tiled buildings reflect the sunlight. Famous for its impressive architecture, rich history, vibrant arts scene, plus some of the world’s best beers, it's not hard to see why Prague is one of Europe's most loved city trip destinations. Better still, visit in the winter months when twinkling lights and the scent of mulled wine set a truly magical scene.

Prepare to embark on a morning tour of Prague’s Old Town, New Town and Jewish Quarter, with a chance to discover the city’s lesser known nooks and crannies, not to mention iconic attractions like Wenceslas Square and Astronomical Clock. Plunge into the wonderland of Prague’s Christmas markets to browse authentic Czech handicrafts, charming decorations, and mouthwatering local savouries and sweets like chimney cake and succulent sausages.

Get the most out of the market scene by selecting optional excursions: there’s a small group on a magical Christmas market tour with locals, and a walking tour with festivities thrown in.

On the third day, head to the station to board your Vienna-bound train.

With the six-night itinerary, you will stay three nights in Prague.

Day 2-4: Vienna

Vienna waits for you – and what better time to answer the call than the winter months, when grand imperial palaces, ornate baroque churches, and stately coffeehouses are adorned with all the festive frills. Visit fine arts hubs or the famous Vienna State Opera – Vienna is a city brimming with culture, not to mention flavour. From tender Wiener Schnitzel to indulgent chocolate torte, you’ll be in for a treat.

Vienna’s Christmas markets are truly something to behold: twinkling trees, the heartwarming smell of roasted chestnuts, and rows of stalls laden with handicrafts, jewellery, soaps, sweet treats and gourmet cheese, amongst so many more novel gift ideas. Just be sure to save some room in your case.

To navigate this enchanting market maze, you can opt to join a special Christmas market tour, as well as a small group tour with local nibbles thrown in.
