For those who love the outdoors, you could explore the Aposelemis Wildlife Refuge before heading out on a hike. Follow the Faraggi Aposelemis trail, which winds its way to a scenic gorge. If you prefer to unwind, Aposelemis Beach or the Blue Flag-awarded Analipsis Beach are the perfect spots for a relaxing afternoon by the sea.
For a change of pace, the Cretan capital of Heraklion is a convenient 30-minute drive away. Take off on a day trip to this bustling city and spend your time flitting between its legendary museums, ancient sites, and pleasant café culture. Just outside the city, you can also explore the legendary Palace of Knossos, an ancient Minoan palace complex with heaps of history.
