From the colourful harbour city of Bergen to the snow-dusted peaks of the Arctic North, this epic Norwegian 11-night voyage takes you on one of the world’s most scenic sea routes. Spend your first night exploring Bergen’s trendy Bryggen district before boarding your elegant Hurtigruten cruise ship, a striking red, white and black vessel complete with a sauna and much more. Glide through fjords, mountains and remote fishing villages along the historic Coastal Express route, which dates back to 1893.
By day, you’ll discover UNESCO-listed marvels, Viking-founded towns, and the Arctic wonders of Tromsø, the North Cape and Kirkenes; by night, watch the midnight sun or the Northern Lights from the deck as you sail between tranquil ports and icy wilderness. Pose for pictures at the northernmost tip of continental Europe, and after brushing the border of Siberian Russia, your ship will retrace the route south with a chance to see any spots previously passed in the night.
You can tailor each day’s activities from the cruise’s extensive menu of optional, onshore excursions ranging from city tours and museum visits to mountain hikes and kayaking expeditions. Please note that these excursions are not included and must be booked separately with the supplier, after booking with Secret Escapes.

Step aboard your impressive, Arctic cruise ship, an iconic vision of red, white and black gliding through the deep North Sea waters and snow-dusted scenery. The ships’ interiors feature Art Deco touches, nods to Norwegian heritage and some sport modern Arctic refurbishments. Well-appointed, cosy cabins range from inside to outside with glimpses across the sea, whilst spacious, superior cabins ensure top-tier comfort. Raise a glass at the lounge bar as your ship sets sail, the perfect spot to meet fellow guests and kick back as the beautiful scenery passes by. The main marketplace-style restaurant serves an authentic buffet spread, and there’s also a pizza and burger bistro with a Nordic twist, plus a fine coastal à la carte restaurant if you’re looking to push the boat out. The expedition team is on hand to inform and help you plan your on-land adventures, and when it’s time to unwind, the sauna and fitness room awaits.
