A relaxing stay at a smart, modern hotel 10 minutes from St Peter’s Square in a green suburb of Rome, immersed in private gardens – includes breakfast and welcome cocktail
-
Moments from the magic: If you prefer a leafier setting for your short breaks, the NH Roma Villa Carpegna – in a green and park-laden suburb just outside the city centre – is just the ticket. Though you’re not far from the centre: on the metro it’s a mere 30 minutes to Spagna, which gives access to the historic centre, or you could hop in a taxi and be at St Peter’s Basilica in under 10 minutes.
-
Cool off in style: Refresh after long days of sightseeing in the hotel’s spherical outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by loungers for a great place to kick back and relax under Rome’s sunny skies. You can order meals direct to your lounger from the AQUA bar menu, from poolside pizzas to fresh and flavoursome salads. A true oasis in this beautiful urban setting.
-
A bite to eat: Choose from the hotel’s delectable menu of Roman classics like pasta alla carbonara for your evening meal at Il Gelsomino – a bright and contemporary space with a laid-back piano bar. Begin each morning with a buffet spread for breakfast, featuring freshly baked breads and pastries, fresh fruit and squeezed juices. For relaxed meals, La Magnolia bar has lighter bites and cocktails served late into the evening.
How to get there
The hotel is on the western side of Rome, 27 kilometres from Rome Fiumicino Airport and 34 kilometres from Rome Ciampino Airport – journeys to each take around 30 minutes by car and the hotel has its own parking at no extra charge. The nearest metro station, Valle Aurelia, is less than two kilometres away and is on the A line, with a direct link to the centro storico and Termini Central Station.

Rome
West of Rome’s historic centre, you’ve a direct link via the fast and efficient metro into the heart of the Eternal City. There’s easy access to some of Italy's most renowned attractions: the historic and storied, Colosseum, the majestic Pantheon, and the artistic treasures of the Vatican Museums are all within reach. Wander through the enchanting streets of Trastevere, famous for its lively nightlife and traditional trattorias, or enjoy a peaceful stroll in the lush Villa Borghese gardens.
Immerse yourself in Rome's rich history and vibrant culture by exploring the bustling squares, such as Piazza Navona and Campo de' Fiori, where you can discover local markets, street performers and quaint cafes. Wander through ancient alleyways lined with charming boutiques and artisan shops, or savour the city’s renowned gelato as you take in the architectural splendour of Baroque fountains and medieval buildings.
Spend days closer to the hotel, exploring the quiet, upscale suburbs and the many urban parks. It’s hilly on this side of the city, and you can enjoy leg-stretching strolls up to peaceful viewpoints overlooking the city below, bisected by the wide ribbon of the river Tiber. Parco del Pineto is distinguished by its towering pines, and has far-reaching views over St Peter’s Basilica, which you could enjoy on the Saturday morning Parkrun. Or, head to the Parco Villa Doria Pamphilj, a vast park – the largest public green space in Rome – with elegant villas, formal gardens, great birdwatching opportunities and well-maintained trails.
