From temples to beaches, embark on a bucket-list India tour with an optional Holi festival experience - includes flights, excursions & transfers
Please note, the day-to-day itinerary will differ depending on which tour your choose. Guests have the choice between celebrating Holi festival or enjoying a rickshaw ride and a cooking lesson in Jaipur.
Day 1-2: Delhi
Your tour begins in Delhi, a buzzy city built upon a labyrinth of cosmopolitan hubs, historic forts, and stunning temples. A concoction of colours, city sounds, and endless energy, this metropolis will ignite all your senses - and then some. Touch down and check into your plush hotel, making sure to enjoy a night of well-deserved rest and relaxation following your lengthy journey. Tomorrow, look forward to an unforgettable, fun-packed day.
After a delicious breakfast, your day will begin with a tour of Old Delhi. Marvel at the sandstone walls of the Red Fort, ride a rickshaw around the winding lanes of Chandini Chowk, and examine the ancient ruins of the 14th-century Kotla Firoze Shah. Finally, spend a peaceful moment or two at the riverside Raj Ghat, the site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination, before heading on to an exciting tour of New Delhi in the afternoon. Once you’re in India’s vibrant and chaotic capital, tick off sights such as the Presidential Palace and the iconic India Gate, as well as the 72-metre-high Qutub Minar.
Day 3: Agra
Today, Agra beckons. Famous as the home of the legendary Taj Mahal, Agra is one of India’s most important cities, both historically and culturally. First on the sightseeing agenda will be none other than the UNESCO-listed Agra Fort, which stands as one of the most exquisite Mughal forts in the country. With a storied history of battles, invasions, and rebellion, legacies of times past whisper through this red castle’s fortified walls.
Later, complete the day with a visit to Agra’s crowning jewel: the Taj Mahal. Visit at sunset and watch the day fade behind India’s infamous symbol of eternal love, as sparkling golds and pinks dance across the shimmering white marble.
Day 4-6: Jaipur
After breakfast, make your way to India’s Pink City: Jaipur. Known for its pink-hued cityscape, Jaipur is a colourful hub of history and culture. En-route to your hotel, stop off at the 16th-century abandoned site of Fatehpur Sikri. The next day, head on a Jeep ride to the UNESCO-recognised Amber Fort, stopping at Jaipur’s iconic red and pink sandstone palace - Hawa Mahal - for a quick photo op on the way. You’ll learn plenty more about rosy Jaipur in the afternoon, after taking a tour around the city’s top sights, from Maharaja’s City Palace to the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world, The Jantar Mantar.
And on your final day in Jaipur, choose between two fantastic experiences. Your first option is to immerse yourself in the local culture with a celebration of Holi at a local venue. A spring time celebration of hope, joy, and new beginnings, Holi is a joyous festival that brings everyone together - locals, visitors, and tourists alike. Watch as India’s Pink City is transformed into a vibrant canvas of coloured powder, dancing, and folk music. Alternatively, opt for a fabulous rickshaw tour through the city. You’ll set off early in the morning - with the streets still empty and the air still crisp - and discover Jaipur through a unique lens, experiencing early morning prayers, blessings, and more. With this option, you'll round off the day with a mouth-watering cooking lesson by a local chef, where you’ll learn about the wonders of Rajasthani cuisine with every tantalising bite.
Day 7-10: Goa
Today, the true relaxation begins. Following fun-filled activities, fascinating sightseeing, and exciting celebrations, the time has come to board a flight to the state of Goa and dig your toes into its soft, pristine shores. After touchdown, transfer to your plush beach hotel. Once you’ve arrived, get ready to complete the trip with a beach stay you won’t soon forget - exploring Goa’s spectacular shores, sunbathing beneath golden rays, and making good use of all the fabulous amenities that your hotel has to offer.
Please note, with the 12-night itinerary, you will stay six nights in Goa.
Day 11: Goa - UK
On day 11, say goodbye to historic temples and golden sands and head to your departure airport for a blissful journey back to the UK.
