A fuss-free modern hotel in close proximity to historic Oxford - includes breakfast, optional dinner credit, and a welcome bottle of wine

  • Oxford’s calling: Just outside the striking city of Oxford, Oxford Belfry Hotel & Spa is an easy escape for anyone wanting an enticing option with a wealth of activities on your doorstep. Indeed, the hotel is less than 10 miles from the Oxford Botanical Gardens, The Covered Market and the Ashmolean Museum; add to this world-class shopping at Bicester Village and a World Heritage Site at Blenheim Palace (both about 25 minutes away), and you have all the ingredients you need for a vastly varied holiday.

  • Delightful food: Aptly named ‘Spires’, the restaurant serves up delicious dishes made from locally sourced produce, so you can count on getting the best with every bite. Fuel up at breakfast with a fabulous Full English and you’ll be able to take whatever the day throws at you, meanwhile at dinner, the à la carte menu is full of all-time favourites set to delight every kind of diner.

  • Spoiling spa: After a day on your feet seeing all the best sites, take refuge in the hotel’s spa to decompress and relax. From sweaty sauna sessions and refreshing dips in the pool, to massages and beauty treatments with ELEMIS products, you’ll find a state of peace in no time at all (fees apply). There’s even a gym with up-to-date equipment for anyone who feels the need for an ad hoc workout.

How to get there

The hotel is located in Milton Common, just outside the historic city of Oxford. It’s just off the M40, and with plenty of parking facilities, as well as electric vehicle charging stations, driving there is probably the best option (it also means you can take full advantage of the nearby Park & Ride service into the city centre).

Entry requirements

The passport, visa and health requirements at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website for UK citizens, and on the Department of Foreign Affairs website for IE citizens. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements before you travel, including whether your passport must be machine readable or which visas/waivers may be required for entry, such as ESTA for USA travel and/or ETIAS for EU travel. Please also be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.

Thame

The City of Dreaming Spires is as enchanting and interesting as cities come. Even the old streets – teeming with life, ancient buildings and brainiacs – are as much of a site as many of the actual tourist spots. On weekends many of the university’s colleges are open to the public, and these impressively pretty buildings are certainly worth a mosey around – Magdalen and Christ Church are particularly stunning, and Christ Church has the added benefit of its large meadows, which make for a lovely country walk. And then there are the areas of interest, like the Ashmolean Museum and the Bodleian Library, both of which have frequent internationally renowned exhibitions. On a sunny day don’t pass up the chance of going punting on the river – you can hire a punt down by Magdalen Bridge and get taken out by a seasoned punter; you can also take it out yourself, but be warned, it’s much harder than the pros make it look.
