Half-day astronomic stargazing tour (Day 4 or 5)
Experience the pristine night skies of the Atacama Desert during a guided stargazing tour. Begin at the Meteorite Museum before using advanced eVscope telescopes in the desert to view distant galaxies, planets, and constellations while sipping warm drinks and enjoying snacks.
El Tatio Geysers tour (Day 5)
Set off before dawn to reach one of the highest geothermal fields in the world, watching steam columns rise from boiling vents as the sun crests the Andes. Enjoy breakfast amidst the fumaroles before returning past high-altitude wetlands populated by wild vicuñas and flamingos. The tour also includes a stop at a viewpoint overlooking the small ancestral village of Machuca.
Altiplanic Lagoon and Atacama Salt Lake tour (Day 5)
Discover the Atacama highlands starting in Toconao, a village famed for its volcanic stone architecture, before visiting Laguna Chaxa's flamingo habitat in the Salar de Atacama. Continue to the highland village of Socaire, then climb to 4,200 metres to reach the Miscanti and Meñiques lagoons. Finally, take in the vivid red rock formations and contrasting blue waters at Salar de Talar
Frutillar half-day tour (Day 8)
Glide along the shores of Lake Llanquihue to discover Frutillar, a picture-perfect town famed for its German colonial heritage and pristine gardens. Stroll past historic wooden houses, admire the iconic Teatro del Lago on the waterfront, and perhaps take the time to indulge in traditional German pastries.
Chiloé Island full-day tour (Day 8)
Board a scenic ferry across the Chacao Channel to explore Chiloé Island's unique maritime folklore and wooden architecture. Visit traditional fishing villages, UNESCO-listed wooden churches in Dalcahue, and the iconic colourful stilt houses (palafitos) perched over the water in Castro.
Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers boat navigation (Day 11 for 12 and 17-night itineraries only)
Sail through the Patagonian fjords past cormorant and sea lion colonies toward the icy face of the Balmaceda Glacier. Disembark at Serrano Glacier for a short nature walk along an iceberg-filled lake, followed by a traditional Patagonian lunch at Estancia Perales.
Patagonian Chilean experience at Estancia Rio Penitente (Day 11 or Day 12 for 12 and 17-night itineraries only)
Immerse yourself in authentic Patagonian ranch culture with a visit to a historic working estancia. Tour the traditional grounds, learn about sheep shearing and rural life, and enjoy a delicious lunch.
