Malgrate
You’ll be just a 10-minute drive from the centre of Lecco - the charming alpine city by the River Adda on the eastern shores of Lake Como. Must-dos include working your way around the medieval streets of Piazza Roma, hitting the nature trails at the nearby Grigna and Resegone Mountains, stopping for coffee on Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Cermenati, and marvelling at the Visconti Bridge in Borghetto sul Mincio (it was famously built in 1393 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, Duke of Milan).
Further thrills include riding the cable car up to Piani d'Erna, photographing the golden statue of St. Nicholas in Lake Como harbour, and spending time in the lovely Como towns of Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo and Varenna.
