The passport, visa and health requirements (including those related to COVID-19) at the time of booking can be viewed on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website. It is your responsibility to ensure that you and all members of your party are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents, and in compliance with any other immigration/entry requirements, before you travel. Please be sure to check the validity of your passport and allow up to 10 weeks for passport renewals.

You will get a Suzuki Jimmy or similar depending on the size of your party. The car rental company is Payless Car Rental (tel: +506 2430 4647). You will get the car on day 4 in Guacimo and you must return it to the airport on day 14. In case your return flight is outside office hours, it is recommended to return the car on day 13 and take a taxi or public transport to the airport on day 14. If you collect your car outside opening hours (daily from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM) there may be an extra charge for the entire rental period. This surcharge must be paid locally. This amount can be refunded by us afterwards.

Deposit: The primary driver must own a credit card in their own name with an amount available to cover a maximum deposit of £2500. Debit cards can not be accepted.

Driver: The primary driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license valid for at least two years prior. Drivers aged between 21 and 24 will be charged an additional fee of $15 per day during the rental period. Extra drivers cost $10 per driver.

Insurance: full insurance, non-life insurance, third party liability insurance, theft insurance, glass cover, tires, undercarriage and roof is included.

The single supplement is based on travel dates and duration of travel. You will see the final price in the booking process.

On the basis of two full-paying adults, a discount for children is offered dependent on the chosen travel dates and length of stay. You will see the applicable discount in the final booking process. Please note: children up to 12 months old receive a discount on the plane ticket, but will not receive a seat or baggage allowance.

Unfortunately, cots are not available throughout this trip.

Pets are not permitted on this trip due to international plane travel.

Parking may be charged at some of the hotels.

In the booking process you can see if you have a stopover in the USA. If this is the case, an entry permit (ESTA) must be applied for. British citizens do not need a visa to travel to Costa Rica for tourism for up to 90 days.

All travellers should be up to date with primary courses and boosters. Vaccinations usually recommended for travel to Costa Rica include Hepatitis A. Consult your doctor or the NHS travel advice website for more information.

The national currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican colón (CRC)

Activities as well as transportation from days 1 - 4 may be in groups of international travellers.
