Positioned just off the southern coast of India, the tear drop-shaped island of Sri Lanka is a paradise of emerald-green landscapes and sugary sands. This tour gives you the opportunity to visit Sigiriya, the ancient rock fortress and ruined castle that was once home to King Kasyapa, and one of the vast national parks roamed by the Asian elephant.
Learn to rustle up an authentic Sri Lankan dish with vegetables you'll pick up at a local market. Explore Kandy, where you can take in the hugely important Buddhist site, the Sacred Temple of the Tooth, as well as a village that trades in Ayurvedic spices and a traditional evening show. You'll also head out on a guided city tour, ending in a visit to an arts and crafts hotspot.
Finally, you'll slow it all down at luxury beach resort, Heritance Ahungalla. Here, you'll have plenty of time to relax in the infinity pool, gazing out at the gentle waves of the Indian Ocean.
