Let your creativity run free as you make your own azulejo at a workshop in Porto. A master of this craft will bring you closer to the Portuguese tradition, with enthusiasm and passion. After immortalising your own motif on a tile, drive your rental car to Sintra and Lisbon, where you will can seek out further azulejo patterns, admire colourful old buildings and be carried away by the joy of life that permeates these cities. Azulejos Workshop

In the Bramica Pottery studio you will learn everything about azulejos - traditional Portuguese tile art. Teresa, the owner of the studio, is a master of ceramics and will show you, with much enthusiasm and passion, how to master this craft. It will bring you closer to the history and the manufacturing process of the Portuguese azulejos and show you the different techniques and styles. Then, you can get started and make and paint your own azulejo. Maybe it will be a motif that reminds you of your time in Portugal: a tram, a windmill, or one of the sailing boats on the Douro? The tile is then fired and, as this takes longer than the actual workshop, your own tile will be sent to you by post afterwards.

The workshop lasts about 2.5 hours and includes pottery accessories, ceramics and drinks (coffee, water, tea). It will take place in Portuguese and English.

Good to know: The word "azulejos" comes from Arabic ("az-zellij") and means something like "tiling" or "polished stone".

Payment

If you book this deal before 35 days of your departure, you can choose to pay in parts. The deposit will be 50% of the deal’s price plus the booking fee and travel and/or cancellation insurance (when applicable). Children’s discount	On the basis of two full-paying adults, a discount for children may be offered dependent on the chosen travel dates and length of stay. Car hire	An excess risk applies in the event of theft or damage. A credit card deposit is required upon arrival. You will receive all rental car information along with your travel documents.
Return trip to the airport	Ensure you leave enough time to drive back to the airport and return the rental car
