As well as this, you'll also get the chance to admire giant pandas up close in Chengdu. Then it's time to travel further to reach 'the roof of the world'. Tibet has earned this nickname due to its dizzying position at an altitude of 4,500 metres. Here, you'll find Buddhist pilgrimage sites, ancient monasteries and gigantic mountain lakes. • Tang Dynasty Show (Day 7 or 9 - 1.5 hours) • When you visit Xi'an, it is a must to see a real Tang Dynasty show. Formerly known as Chang'an, the city was the imperial capital during 13 dynastic periods. Of these, the Tang Dynasty was the most prosperous and glorious of all. Be amazed by the traditional, colourful costumes and Chinese history during a spectacle of music and dance! - Includes transfers, English speaking guide and entrance fee. - This excursion is not possible on the Everest trip.
• Shaolin Temple (day 9 or 11 - 4 hours) • Visit the Shaolin Temple in the Mount Song region of Dengfeng. The temple was built in 495 and is one of the most famous temples in China. Not only because of its rich history, but also because this temple is an important place for Chinese Buddhism and the martial art Wushu Chan (kung fu). In the area surrounding the mountain, you can see wildflowers and pines. And with singing birds and a splashing brook it will be a beautiful scene. - Includes transfers, English speaking guide and entrance fee. - This excursion is not possible on the Everest trip.
• Kung fu show at Red Theatre (day 11 or 13 - 1.5 hours) • This kung fu show, consisting of six scenes, is presented by a group of great kung fu practitioners from all over China. Many of them are not yet 17 years old, but have studied Chinese martial art for years. During the 80 minutes you will enjoy a real performance of kung fu, modern dance and acrobatics in the Red Theatre in Beijing. - Includes transfers, English speaking guide and entrance fee.
