Hurghada is often thought of as a fly-and-flop destination, and you’d be forgiven for doing just that - the beaches are blissful, the water is warm, and the sun is almost always shining. However, if you want to see a little bit of Egypt while you’re here, Hurghada puts you in great stead to do so, with easy access to historic sights. You can easily take a day trip to Luxor from here, to lay eyes on its iconic temples, or venture into Hurghada to admire impressive sand sculptures that mimic the country’s famous sights at Sand City Hurghada. Can’t wait for your Nile cruise? Why not take a boat trip out into the Red Sea, where the diving is some of the best in the world.

Nile cruise

Day 1: Luxor

Having caught a transfer from Hurghada, you’ll arrive at Luxor where you’ll board the MS Renaissance. (Meals: dinner)

Day 2: Luxor

The second day will be spent exploring historic Luxor, with optional tours of Karnak and Luxor Temples, before heading back to base and spending the evening getting to know the ship’s amenities. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 3: Edfu

In the day, optional tours of show-stopping destinations, including the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon, will take place, before lifting anchor and sailing to Edfu. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4: Kom Ombo and Aswan

Today, your options include being taken to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, ahead of setting sail to Kom Ombo, where you can go on an optional tour to the temple of Sobek. After that it’s back on board and continuing down the Nile to Aswan. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 5: Aswan

Get out and see the historically significant city of Aswan, with optional tours of the Aswan Dam, the unfinished Obelisk, and Philae Temple. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6: Edfu

Prior to sailing back to Edfu, you can opt to channel your inner Indiana Jones with an amazing tour to the ancient Abu Simbel Temple. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 7: Luxor

On the leisurely return to Luxor, surrender yourself to the life of luxury on-board the ship. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 8: Hurghada

After disembarking and transferring to Hurghada, you’ll head back to your hotel to continue your stay. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)
