Day 1-2: Banff

This resort town sits within the glacial lake-fringed surroundings of Banff National Park. You can really immerse yourself in nature here, and explore the untouched wilderness with outdoor adventures galore. Watch out for the wildlife – residents here include elk and grizzly bears.

Day 3-4: Banff - Kamloops - Vancouver

On day three you’ll board the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer train – a fabulous experience where you’ll be waited on hand and foot as you take in the panoramic views of the Rockies. Alongside your thrilling train ride, you'll get to spend a night at a hotel in Kamloops (allocated by the Rocky Mountaineer while onboard), before continuing to Vancouver the next day; on arrival you’ll transfer to your hotel and have the rest of the day to yourself.

Day 5: Vancouver

More than just a pretty face, the mountain-rimmed city of Vancouver is an epicurean enclave with a growing crop of microbreweries and Insta-worthy neighbourhoods, from uber-cool Gastown to hipster Main Street. Flanked by snow-covered peaks, acres of national parkland and miles of rugged Pacific coastline, Vancouver is truly a one-of-a-kind city bursting at the seams with a unique mix of culture and natural beauty.

Day 6: Vancouver - sea

Today you’ll transfer from the hotel to the port for the next stage of your holiday – an unbelievably beautiful cruise of Alaska.

Day 7: At sea

Spend a day at sea spotting some of the country’s most incredible wildlife as you cruise through Alaska’s famously scenic Inside Passage.

Day 8: Icy Strait Point, Alaska

In Icy Strait Point, the wildlife outnumbers the people, so you’re in with a good chance of spotting some natives, from bears to humpback whales and bald eagles. If adventure is on the agenda, there’s plenty to choose from, with ziplining courses, jeep expeditions and mountain biking at your fingertips.

Day 9: At sea (Hubbard Glacier)

Spend another day at sea enjoying the ship’s facilities and get your camera at-the-ready as you skirt around the jaw-dropping Hubbard Glacier, renowned as the largest tidewater glacier in North America.

Day 10: Juneau, Alaska

Next up is Juneau, Alaska’s spellbinding capital where a bustling centre opens up onto stunning landscapes speckled with majestic glaciers. Spend a relaxing morning stopping off at the city’s string of bakeries and cafes, or hitch a ride on the iconic Mount Roberts Tramway.

Day 11: Ketchikan, Alaska

Your next stop is in the ancient city of Ketchikan. Known as the gateway to Southeast Alaska, this small community is set at the entrance to the famed Inside Passage. Home to the Totem Heritage Center, learn about Native American Culture or take a stroll along historic Creek Street to join shoppers rubbing shoulders with salmon fishermen reeling in the day’s catch.

Day 12: At sea

You have a final day at sea where you can make full use of the ship’s excellent facilities for one last time, as well as taking in the continuously spectacular views.

Day 13: Vancouver - UK

On arrival back in Vancouver you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Outbound from London to Calgary, Canada: Departing at 13.55, arriving into at 15.40

Inbound from Vancouver, Canada to London Heathrow, via Calgary, Canada: Departing Vancouver at 17.00, arriving into Calgary at 19.20

Departing Calgary at 20.30, arriving into London at 11.55 (the following day)
