Days 1-3: Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok is a kaleidoscope of tradition and modernity, peace and cosmopolitanism, where centuries-old Buddhist temples brush shoulders with sprawling shopping complexes and dizzyingly high skyscrapers. Take in the city skyline as you touch down in the Thai capital, after which a private car will whisk you away to your hotel. After settling into your five-star base, Bangkok’s endless attractions and lively streets will be yours for the taking.

Luxury lifestyle is the order of the day in the immediate vicinity, with high-end shopping hotspots like CentralWorld, Siam Square One and the Platinum Fashion Mall all within walking distance. Further out, drift between upscale boutiques, bars, restaurants and nightclubs along Sukhumvit Road, stroll through one of the world’s largest weekend markets in Chatuchak, or venture into the Sathon district for glamorous rooftop bars with spectacular views across the city. Elsewhere, take a deep-dive into Bangkok’s culture and history at the magnificent Grand Palace and surrounding Phra Nakhon, a historic riverside neighbourhood housing glittering temples, top-notch eateries and a vibrant street food scene. And for a spot of tranquillity between sightseeing stints, simply retreat into Lumphini or Benchakitti Park, two of the city centre’s beloved green spaces.

Days 4-8: Kudakurathu Island, Maldives

After three action-packed days in Bangkok, hop into a private car ready to jet off to Malé, the capital of the Maldives. The journey will feel more than worth it once you’re slicing through the waves on a speedboat towards your hotel, with the sea air streaming past and idyllic atolls rising out of the ocean at every turn. Before you know it, you’ll be dropping anchor on a private island in the Raa Atoll, the stunning setting for your all-inclusive Maldives escape.

While away the hours as you wish in this dreamy tropical paradise, where you can paddle away in the turquoise waters, discover colourful reefs beneath the waves, indulge in a soothing massage, or simply take in spellbinding views over tantalising fresh seafood. If you can tear yourself away from the beach, head inland to explore lush mangrove forests, stargaze from secluded watch towers, or roll up your sleeves with an arts and crafts workshop.
