Perast
With enchanting landscapes, charming towns and glittering emerald waters, it's no surprise that the Bay of Kotor has become a firm favourite with in-the-know travellers. You'll be sitting in the pretty town of Perast, an utterly picturesque spot whose historic centre boasts prestigious UNESCO status. Framed by soaring mountains lapped by crystal-clear waters, this magical town was part of the Republic of Venice between the 15th and 18th centuries, and a stroll down the beautiful seafront promenade and the Old Town's winding cobbled streets will reveal breathtaking period architecture and other relics of Venetian rule.
For more world-famous scenery, take a 20-minute drive to Kotor, one of Montenegro's best-preserved medieval villages and another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town is surrounded by a three-mile-long medieval wall, inside of which lie the city's main square, beautiful bell tower, and gorgeous old-world edifices like Napoleon's French theatre.
