Turin

Turin, the capital of the Piedmont region of northwest Italy, is one of Europe’s great cities, mixing a rich heritage in car production, chocolate, one of the most impressive collections of Egyptian artefacts in the world, and football. A meander along some tree-lined boulevards to Piazza Castello and down the Via Roma will encompass many of the must-see sights of the city. Located along the west bank of the River Po, Valentino Park is worth a visit too - housing a stunning 18th-century castle surrounded by botanical gardens and a medieval village. From Turin, board the TrEno for an experience like no other. The first historic food and wine train in Italy, you'll get to enjoy aperitivo and other foodie delights as you admire stunning UNESCO sights and natural beauty.

Pisa

Next, you'll get to bask in the rich culture of Pisa. The Tuscan city needs no introduction, its quirky 12-century Leaning Tower being famous the world over, and among the most recognisable sites of interest in all of Italy. If you're keen to admire things up close, opt to include a skip-the-line entry ticket so you beat the queues and climb the 294 spiral steps to the top of the tower. Admire the fine stonework up close, and gaze out over Pisa’s Cathedral Square and Miracles Square. After, cross one of the various bridges that straddle the River Arno, and along the way pass some of the city’s 20 historic churches or one of its several medieval palaces.

Bologna

Journey to beautiful Bologna, Italy's gastronomic capital famed for its Ragu and Mortadella sausage. Spend your days tasting your way around the city on an optional Do Eat Better Experience food walking tour. It offers a mouthwatering overview of the city’s food scene and culture - visit the historic centre brimming with local eateries and cafes, sampling the city’s culinary offerings of wine, cheese, pasta, espresso, and either gelato or cake depending on the season. The city is also known for its unusual set of medieval towers, two of which remain to punctuate the terracotta skyline, whilst its huge Gothic church, San Petronio Basilica, boasts no less than 22 chapels and is the largest brick-built church in the world.
