Discover the scenic wonders of Iceland during the festive season, with a Northern Lights tour, flights, transfers and optional bucket-list excursions
Make your festive season merry and bright with an amazing trip to the magical landscapes of Iceland. The city of Reykjavík is decked out for the holidays, whilst beyond the captivating capital you’ll find frosty glaciers, volcanic landscapes, erupting geysers and cascading waterfalls. Choose from a fabulous selection of hotels to find your perfect holiday base, and complete your trip with any number of once-in-a-lifetime optional excursions.
Snow-dusted pines and centuries of festive tradition bring the city to life during the holiday period. Immerse yourself in local legends - like the mischievous thirteen Yule Lads who play pranks and give sweeties to good children in the run-up to Christmas - and experience all the city has to offer at Christmas time. Downtown Reykjavík plays host to an ice rink lined with twinkling lights, and locals flock to the Christmas Village in the suburb of Hafnarfjordur, where alpen-style huts sell hot drinks, handmade crafts and tasty festive snacks as live music fills the air.
As part of your trip, you’ll also embark on a Northern Lights bus tour which will take you to (hopefully!) track down the mesmerising natural phenomenon and marvel at the starry night skies of Iceland. Enhance your trip with even more amazing experiences - upgrade your Northern Lights tour to a cruise, travel the iconic Golden Circle, head out on a spectacular whale-watching expedition or enjoy a dip in the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon. You could even take a Christmas walk through Reykjavík to get in the holiday mood, or stay over New Year’s Eve to experience the local celebrations, with fireworks displays and bonfires throughout the capital city.
