Modern bistro dining: Relaxed meals can be enjoyed at the hotel’s VinoSands bistro and wine bar, which transforms into an upscale eatery after breakfast service is concluded. As well as delectable small plates, house wines from von Oven and a convivial atmosphere, the restaurant also offers ‘bottles to go’ with ice and glasses to take away, so you can enjoy your drinks wherever you like.

How to get there
Hamburg Airport is about one hour, 20 minutes’ drive from Timmendorfer Strand. The hotel is about 20 minutes’ walk from Timmendorfer Strand’s train station and it’s possible to take the train from the airport, with a few changes via Hamburg’s central station and the station in Lubeck.
Entry requirements

Timmendorfer Strand
Germany’s Baltic Coastline is famous for its long, sandy beaches, which are lined with the charmingly traditional beach chairs: known as Strandkorbs, which translates literally as ‘beach baskets’, beach chairs have hooded windbreaks to keep out the chill and are a quintessential part of Baltic beach culture. Timmendorfer Strand is a charming spa resort town on the western coast of the Baltic Sea, with a seven-kilometre-long sandy beach on the Bay of Lubeck, chic shops, quaint restaurants and beautiful parks. The area is popular with walkers, bird watchers and golfers and has been a favourite holiday destination of German tourists since the dawn of the 19th century – though it’s relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists. There’s plenty to see and do, including an aquarium, spas, playing beach volleyball, snorkelling and swimming and taking in the open-air concerts and workshops.
