How to get there
The nearest international airport is Dortmund, which you can reach in around 45 minutes by car via the B236. If you're arriving by train, you can quickly reach your accommodation from Lüdinghausen train station in just under five minutes by car or a little more than 10 minutes via public transport.

Lüdinghausen

Medieval magic with a fairytale ambience: Lüdinghausen is a haven for romantics and nostalgics alike. If you have a weakness for historic scenery that's embraced by dreamlike nature, 'the city of moated castles' is the right place for you - the nickname with which the city gem, which rests halfway between Münster and Dortmund in the idyllic Münsterland, can officially adorn itself.


The city's landmark Vischering Castle should be high on your to-do list, as well as the ravishingly pretty rose village of Seppenrade, which inspires with impressive floral diversity on around 18,750 square metres: roughly 600 fragrant species can be found here. Once you've had a taste of this wealth of experiences, there's plenty more to explore - head along the Shamrock Route, which leads like a cloverleaf pattern into the surrounding nature reserves.

Lüdinghausen is a cyclist's paradise, directly on the famous Münsterland cycle routes. Hire bikes to pedal around the local area or head further afield to explore the long-distance cycle routes such as 100 Castles, or the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal cycle route.
